Emma Emboodhoo Lagoon
Hospitality / Resorts | Emboodhoo | Maldives | Completed
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Service : Architecture Concept Design
Size (GFA) : 30,000 m²
The design brief called for master plan and architecture design for the creation of two new reclaimed islands on an untouched lagoon near Male, Maldives. The design expression by HBAarchitecture draws inspiration from harmonious natural forms: the hibiscus flower, the banana leaf and the coconut shell.
HBAarchitecture designed the two neighbouring islands with distinctive complementary characteristics to strengthen the branding of each resort. Seamlessly designed for an indoor-outdoor experience, the 4.5-star 5.5 hectare island is thoroughly modern with a strong sense of locality in classic touches of Maldivian tradition found in the materials and details. All Guestrooms have direct sea frontage and panoramic views. The 3.5-star 5.55 hectare island is a Sea Safari themed atmosphere utilizing lightweight, natural building materials skilfully crafted into a variety of authentic guestrooms, all with expansive sea views.
